The Whole House Calculator allows you to generate a “Report Card” for the key processes, characteristics and systems that make a house behave the way it does in the place its built. It does this by asking you to select the location of the house, then select the processes, characteristics and systems in the house, either starting from the recommended practices for your location, choosing from one of the preconfigured houses, or selecting each process, characteristics and system yourself.
The Calculator then compares your selections with the recommend practice for your location and generates a report card for the overall house and each major subsystem in the house. You can view a more detailed comparison of the items that make up each subsystem to see what items are raising or lowering the grade, compared to the recommended practice for your location.
